FEATURED PROJECTS

Hearth is my final degree collection, delivering soft, tactile interior designs to help combat the stress that comes with the typical 21st century workplace. By creating peaceful environments, Hearth encourages individuals to wind down and reconnect to their surroundings. Inspired by the daily joys in nature, Hearth is created fully from repurposed fabrics, and is made using slow practices such as tapestry weaving - ultimately encouraging individuals to reconnect, take time, and to slow down.

Petalis is a group collection, as part of a Live Project competition for The Romo Group. Inspired by the cycles within nature, particularly florals, our team (consisting of two embroiderers, a weaver and two printers) created a sophisticated yet creative interiors collection. Petalis won the competition due to the creativity and high standard of work.

Inspired by the shapes and forms of botanical plants, I wanted to create an interior collection based around wellbeing, and the health benefits of being surrounded by nature, bringing the outdoors, indoors. The result of all my research and sampling was Eden - a textural interiors collection with a soft palette, to blend seamlessly into people's homes. With delicate embroideries, strong jacquard weaves, and colourful prints, Eden caters to a number of interior furnishings, such as upholstery, soft furnishings and wallpapers.

Artemis explores a range of embroidery techniques - inspired by the Greek goddess Artemis, Goddess of the Wilderness. I took my visual research from rough textures within nature - from tree bark and the earth, the ground we walk upon, and the lines and shapes within leaves and trees. I wanted to use my visual research to create innovative and creative designs, exploring how we can translate textures from nature into textile samples.
